Behind The Smile
Sometimes a smile can be nothing more than a facade, and no character embodies this fact more than the Joker! Behind the painted clown smile, there is anything but happiness. The musical backbone of this show, Smile by Nat King Cole, is creatively arranged throughout the show to represent a variety distinct moods including happiness, sadness, anger, and more, all while retaining the same recognizable melody. Visual or thematic juxtapositions can be employed to emphasize the contrast between these sections. Palettes of bright greens and purples can also be used to represent the character on which this show is based: the Joker!
