Brave New World
In his 1931 novel Brave New World, author Aldous Huxley imagines a dystopian future where an oppressive and controlling World State is left to be opposed by a sole protagonist. In this marching band show of the same title, we take inspiration from the 1931 novel and portray a futuristic society through abstracted arrangments of popular and recognizable music. Turn your entire field into a portrait of the future where scientific and technological advances have created massive societal change! This show uses recognizable themes from Dvořák's New World Symphony to ground us in familiar territory, but then zooms into the future with modern rearrangements of Toxic and Kid A. Take a step into the future with Brave New World!
