The moon and the oceans of our world share an eternal dance — a rhythmic cycle of attraction and reflection which ancient mythologies have personified, through art, for centuries. Moon / Water explores the beauty of this relationship. Lengthy and dynamic phrases throughout the production give your students opportunity to showcase their symphonic training and quality of ensemble sound. The superimposition of Van Morrison’s “Moondance” over the famed “Moonlight Sonata” in this ballad is a key feature moment for your alto sax soloist. With potential for a dazzling and colorful visual palette, Moon / Water is an effective production for small and medium-sized bands with a balanced instrumentation.
