New World
New World
In recent history, our world has been turned upside down. Whether it be covid-19, racial tensions or divisive politics, there is no question that we are in a new era for our world. But the show must go on. Even though things will never quite be the same, we must find a way to come together, embrace our new world and move forward together. The first part of this show establishes the “New World” element. Part 2 dives into a piece of music we personally have never seen done before on a football field! (Kid A by Radiohead) Interestingly enough, if you research the meaning behind the original song, its entire album was a response to a point in the bands career where they wanted to move on from conventional sounds and create something new. Part 3 (Hajanga by Jacob Collier) is a wonderful expression of the idea that our life is a force. It comes in cycles, goes up and down, round and round, it brings people together and is united by a celebratory force and real sense of self-acceptance. Will the world ever be the same? No, but we can come together to create and celebrate a new world that will allow us to move forward.
