What happens when you combine Gershwin, Cyndi Lauper and the Electronic Light Orchestra? All three pieces of source music deal with the blue in one way or another. Whether it be the style or the title, “Blue” is the unifying theme. We found that when you bring these three pieces together, out of nowhere you’ll find a really interesting and fun show! (Hence the title). When programming this show for your ensemble, consider using many shades of blue on the field to drive the theme home. Additionally, consider pairing some kind of story or voiceover with the source music that explores how things can happen and come together, out of the blue.
