Job Description
Provide on-demand technical and production support to JCM’s lead arrangers, especially Jeff Chambers and Tim Mitchell.
Input and prepare scores; handle Sibelius file preparation, notation cleanup, part/score production and engraving.
Assist with Logic and MainStage production tasks, programming, exports, file preparation and related audio production work.
Complete straightforward active client revisions and production changes that do not require a lead arranger/editor.
Support music editing work under JCM’s editorial/notation standards.
When urgent work is light, work through catalog/backlog projects: modernize legacy files, clean notation/templates, refresh production assets, convert/export files and improve catalog consistency.
Communicate clearly about status, blockers and completion so the Production Manager can maintain accurate deadlines and priorities.
Priority Structure
Priority 1 - Jeff & Tim support: remove technical/production work from lead arrangers so they can keep writing.
Priority 2 - Active commission client work: edits, programming, engraving, exports and production changes tied to current deadlines.
Priority 3 - Catalog/backlog maintenance: modernization and cleanup when urgent work is light.
What We’re Looking For
Proficiency in Logic Pro and MainStage
Proficiency with professional music notation software (Sibelius strongly preferred), including score preparation and engraving.
Strong musical knowledge, including instrumentation, score structure, and arranging fundamentals.
Ability to work efficiently and accurately, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly with a remote team.
A proactive, service-oriented mindset and a willingness to jump between different production tasks as needed.
Experience with marching band, drum corps, indoor percussion, arranging, sound design, or related music production is a plus.
Working Relationships
Primary production direction comes from Jeff Chambers and Tim Mitchell. Kat Chapman (Production Manager) coordinates deadlines and workload visibility. Zach Ohara, Lead Editor & Arranger, establishes editing, notation and engraving standards and may assign appropriate editorial work.
About the Work Culture
JCM is a fully remote team that collaborates daily through tools like Slack, Zoom, and Google Drive. Clear communication, organization, and the ability to work independently are important to keeping projects moving. We maintain a weekday-focused schedule, with the expectation of reliable availability during agreed working hours rather than regular nights or weekends. When urgent production work is light, there are always catalog and other ongoing projects to move forward.
Equal Opportunity Employer
Jeff Chambers Music LLC is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
Employment Eligibility
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit a resume and examples of relevant work, including music notation, engraving, audio production, or MainStage projects. Please include a brief introduction describing your experience with music production software and any background in marching band, drum corps, or indoor percussion.
